One Year To A Life Turned Upside Down

I just finished "Radical" by David Platt. Crazy book. I definitely recommend it...but then again, if you're scared of being challenged or convicted, then perhaps this is not the book for you. Then again, maybe it is...if that makes any sense. I think all of us need to feel convicted at some point. If you are in a relationship with Jesus Christ an the God of our universe, it needs to be growing. What kind of a relationship is a stagnant one? Pretty terrible.

Anyways, I feel like I have been stuck in the same place with God for a long time. I have not been growing, and the blame is on me. At the end of "Radical," Platt leaves a challenge for those who wish to take it. It consists of 5 components:
1. Pray for the entire world.
2. Read through the entire Word.
3. Sacrifice your money for a specific purpose.
4. Spend your time in another context.
5. Commit your life to a multiplying community.

It's going to be a challenge. And it will take a lot of time and even money. But I am convicted of my selfish ways, and I need to remind myself that God is not MY Father who art in heaven, but OUR Father. Keep me accountable, and even join in if you want.

Oh! And go pick up a copy of "Radical," too!

"Are you content to offer to the Lord that which cost you nothing?"

This post reminded me of that quote which I believe is from Francis Chan's Crazy Love. (but I'm not positive)
