Yes, We're Breaking Tradition!

I'm doing exactly what I've said from birth (ok, maybe that's a small exaggeration...) I will never do. Yes...Cal and I will be seeing each other before our wedding ceremony!

But let me explain myself first. I went into wedding planning all gung ho about keeping that tradition - no matter what the photographer, or anyone else says! But then a few friends changed my mind by sharing their own experience. They had the scene set up so the groom wouldn't see the bride until she walked down the aisle - but they were all alone. No one but them and the photographer. She walked down the aisle, they got the chance to relish in the moment that it was their wedding day, and they had the chance to pray together. After all, I've heard we won't be alone until we leave the wedding - so having a few moments semi-alone sounds good to me! And what better way to start the day off than with a little prayer?

So we talked with our photographer, a wonderful woman who just moved here from Ireland (check out her photographs here), and decided on a time and a place before the wedding where we, and our immediate families, will have some time to spend a half an hour/an hour together, get some fun photos, and just soak in the memories and the significance about what will soon be happening.

8 months and 8 days to go until my groom will see me in my pretty (yes, it's already in my closet!) white dress, and us two crazy kids will step into the adventure of being man and wife together. Oh, how I long for that day! ♥
