Dreams
I'm a dreamer and a planner. I dream about things close in the future, such as what Christmas break or even my weekend will be like, and I dream about things that are in the future, some closer than others.
It's an exciting thought that the best days to come haven't happened yet. In fact, for Cal's birthday either last year or the year before, I gave him a dog tag necklace (I knew he liked those) that says "The best is yet to be," and our anniversary on it. And that's true whether I think that now or 5 years or even 40 years in the future...I'm excited for every stage of life and what each one brings. One of the things I'm most excited for with Cal is travelling one day (on that nice Engineering salary, right babe? ;)). But really. I'm excited to take him to England and Scotland and Wales to show him where I grew up. Yeah, I only lived there for 3 years but it was during a critical time in my life (the pre and beginning of my teens) and to me that's where I really made the first step in maturing. I miss the fields of nothing but cows, driving on the wrong side of the road, the mountains, and yes, even the rain I once despised. I want to stay in a cottage where there's basically hardly any electricity and walk some of Hadrian's wall with him. I want to visit London with all of the other tourists and go to a pub and visit with my old friends there with him.
I also can't wait to one day go to New Zealand with him and see where his mom grew up and to meet his family. I want to see where the earthquake hit and where Lord of the Rings was filmed and experience a culture that I haven't yet.
So until then, I'll be dreaming of the many places that we'll one day get to go and see, but particularly those two as they're near and dear to our hearts! Sweet dreams to you all! :)
