Nervous

So here I am - 1 day before NaNoWriMo (national novel writing month) begins. I was planning on getting a little head start on it today at work, but for some reason I am really nervous! Writing a novel is a daunting task, hence this challenge to help you get started. Yet I am still nervous! Even though my own personal goal isn't necessarily the 50,000 words, I feel like I need to be the best. Like that of Kathryn Stockett or Nixon Picoult or JK Rowling. I have to keep reminding myself it's ok to not have it perfect off the bat...to write a goofy or uninteresting story. I also worry about who i'll share this book with. Cal? My parents? Even...you guys? I'm not sure. Don't be offended if I don't, because I'm now realizing how vulnerable an author is when s/he shares his/her work.

Maybe as the month goes on and my story develops I'll post pieces up...but for now...I am a ball of nerves!

Don't be nervous. Just have fun! I can't wait to start my book! I read a book by the guy who started it all and he said the idea of Nanowrimo is to get your book on paper. Don't stop and edit it, don't worry about a perfect plot. Just do it! It's quite freeing to just write and watch the story happen. I posted my first one on my blog last year. It was bad but I felt good that I finished it and I certainly LOVED writing it. GOOD LUCK!!! I will be writing with you tomorrow! I can't wait for your updates.
