Introverted
I am like my dad in just about every way (or at least I consider myself to be). I've always hated talking on the phone, and I remember when I was little my dad told me he always hated it too. Back then, I didn't realize that was a sign of my personality type; I just thought that it was something funky about me.
Introverts have got it rough! We tend to be shy, but people think we're snobby. We sweat and our hearts race (at least mine does) when it comes to any human interaction like talking on the phone, confrontation, or even something like ordering food because you want your meal without "onions" or "peppers." Ok, maybe that's not all introverts' fears, but they're mine! People intimidate me! But, I have worked on those fears and both of my jobs at school have helped me with that.
It doesn't matter what your personality is like, who you get your strength from (others or being alone); everyone should work on their imperfections and weaknesses. I know my limits and when I'm over-stimulated. I know when I need to go to my room and just sit (sounds like someone in a horror movie). I have to have me time when I can work on my little crafty projects, mindlessly watch Netflix, or crochet, because it gives me the energy and strength to be "brave" and deal with people.
So next time you meet someone and s/he is awfully quiet...don't assume they think they're "too good" for you...they're just shy :)
