High Five for Friday!
Another week...gone! And that's ok with me because my top choice for my Friday Five is...
1. Today was the last day of camp!!! Let the hallelujah chorus begin. I love, love, love my summer job...but it was time to say goodbye. Thank goodness for unlimited phone minutes because I used my phone like crazy this summer. I spent approximately 7 hours (over the course of 9 weeks) calling parents about discipline issues, sicknesses, strange occurrences (like the crazy squirrel who ate a child's backpack or the time a boy swallowed his shark tooth), accidents (both numbers unfortunately), and I'm proud I say no throw up. Mrs. F doesn't like that nastiness. Between counselors, 100 or so kids each week, and twice that many parents...I run around like a chicken with my head cut off 8 hours a day. But it's fun, and the hugs, cards, and general sweetness make the hard days better (and trust me, there were a few harder than I could ever imagine). But I'm so proud of how this summer went, from the daily decisions to the big ones.
2. This Clean Eating website. I've been contemplating going full on clean eating for a while, and I've finally looked up some recipes! These ones are vegan and gluten free, which we're definitely not doing because #1 Cal loves meat too much and #2 I love chicken too much. But there's no harm in trying to be healthier and eat a mostly clean diet. Truth be told, we cannot give up pizza. If you have a superb clean pizza recipe, do share!
3. I received an email from someone in the College of Education, asking if I wanted to change my name on all of my files to Foshee. Yes please!! At NC State I'm officially a Foshee on records and any Elementary Education files - now just to change my passport...
4. Well this technically hasn't happened yet, but my parents come home on Saturday (God-willing - they're still in the midst of traveling back). They were in Kenya for a medical missions trip through their (formerly my) church - Crosspointe. No, neither of them are doctors or anything medical related, but I suppose they are "expert" missionaries so they were nominated to be the group's leaders! I'm so proud of them and their hearts for those outside of our narrow little world in Cary, NC.
5. Last Saturday Cal entered us into a lottery our apartment had, and we won a $50 gift certificate to the Yard House! Aka tonight is a free date night (and to a place we've never been) - the best kind :)
Oh, and did I mention today is the last day of camp?? Happy Friday!
