Friday Night's Review
Ok, so Friday evening was pretty big for Cal and I. We saw The Hunger Games, which was significant because it was one of the first time's Cal's really been into a series and then it coming out as a movie. So his reaction was interesting - better than mine, but I'll go on about that in a few paragraphs :)
Then, the State game. Ah, N.C. State. We tried to go to one of Cal's favorite bars, Sammy's, but we quickly figured out we wouldn't physically fit our bodies into any bar or restaraunt in Raleigh (darn you, Hunger Games!), so we went to a Draft house on the line of Cary/Apex. We had a ton of fun watching the game, and people (one guy with this crazy long hair got arrested!), and eating :) The only problem was...the TV kept freezing! A horrible thunderstorm started in the second half of the game, and the satellite TV was not behaving. In the last 2 minutes of the game, I was in a crowd of (mostly middle-aged) men trying to watch the very intense last few chances State had on one guy's iPhone. Oh, the memories. We lost, by a measly 3 points, but I am SO proud of my Wolfpack. We improved greatly this year, and it proved to be an amazing season. The Underdog was sooo close to winning the NCAA Tournament! Watch out for us next year - when wolves are hungry...WE EAT!!!!
Ok, my review of The Hunger Games. Apparently I am the only person in America who was not impressed (dad, are you proud of my super-criticalness of movies now?!). Don't get me wrong, it was a good movie. I felt like it left a lot of important things out, and you'd have had to read the book to understand the movie (or at least some hugely significant parts). I never got "the shivers" where in one scene I'm just like "oh my GOSH, this movie is great!" Since I'm the only one who seems to think the movie was not the greatest thing since sliced bread, I could have just been really out of it or something! It was well-done and fine, but it just wasn't as amazing as it could have been. Oh, the first world problems of a book-lover!
