My Dilemma

I'm faced with a dilemma. On October 25, I left Facebook. In a few weeks it will be 4 months since I last logged in and checked my News Feed. I know I will return eventually, but the question is...when? Here are my pros and cons...

Pros

- I will be less bored. With school in swing, I'm back to only seeing Cal on Thursday nights for an hour during the week. I know I boo-hoo about it a lot in my head, but then I remember we don't have it as bad as other couples. Even though we don't have a long distance relationship, it feels like it. Anyways, the point is I get bored easily. And I miss interacting with people I don't see on a daily basis.

- I hate not knowing. Is so and so still dating that person? Who's engaged? Did ___ have her baby yet?! Who's birthday is it?! Twitter has helped a little. But not much.

Cons

- I love not knowing. It is actually really freeing not knowing what is going on all around you. It almost makes you feel more important if someone tell you something happened instead of reading it on a status. I am an ex-Facebook stalker, and I like it that way. I find myself paying more attention to those around me rather than pulling out my phone to check Facebook.

-MY BLOG - I know Mom, Nana, Cal (and his mom and his aunt) read this blog (hey guys! :) ), but other than that, I feel like I don't have any reader, because I don't get "likes" on Facebook. Then again, that was one of my points to leave. I wanted to write for me and not others. But I kind of miss knowing "Aw, so-and-so read this!" I understand comments are too big of a commitment (I never comment on blogs), which is why Blogger should add "likes" to their features!

Ok. There it is. Not much to go off on. Hence my dilemma. So I may or may not pop up on your News Feed in the next few weeks (or months). Have a great Wednesday!

Oh, and if you have a blog, comment with the link because I follow a lot (but not enough) and I want to read more!! :)

I really wish that blogger had a like function too Chels! I feel like NO ONE reads my blog. I have a hard time getting my family to read it. But at the same time, it is kind of nice to get those surprising comments from people about something I posted on my blog. For the record, I check your blog at least once a week to catch up ;D

You have no idea what it is like to be in a long distance relationship if you're comparing your situation to that. It's more emotionally, physically, and mentally draining that you could ever imagine. Consider yourself lucky that you and your significant other are not separated by dozens of state lines and countless miles. I actually laughed out loud when I read that statement because I couldn't believe how naive and wrong you were. I know it may stink to not be able to see your boyfriend/fiancé/husband all the time or be able to talk all throughout the day but your mind cannot begin to grasp how bad it can be in a long distance relationship. You wake up some days feeling physically ill because you want to look the person you love in the eyes, hold them, have a conversation face to face, or just walk holding hands in silence. You have no experience to say your relationship, where he lives in the same town and goes to the same school as you is anything remotely close to resembling a legitimate long distance relationship. I realize you may think that I am overreacting but being a person who has been in a long term and long distance relationship its really fires me up hearing you complain about such a trivial issue when countless people have it worse than you. Be happy you have him and have the ability to see him on a regular basis. Not everyone has that luxury, and trust me, it hurts more than I could ever express in words...
