Thirst

As Christians, we should thirst for God. Desire to know Him and get to know Him. But honestly, thirsting can be hard. We have so many distractions around us - and we often forget how important God is and always will be in these "modern" times.

I've heard that marriage therapists say to couples "make time to hold hands a few minutes every so often." By scheduling hand-holding time, as unromantic as that may be, it eventually leads to it being a natural act. Not only that, but the couples will find they desire to once again hold hands with each other. It's the same with smiling - if you force a smile, it WILL lead you to a better mood. Trust me.

And so, as I'm reading the Bible and heading into the book of Joshua, I'm starting to once again thirst for more. I look forward to reading the Bible, as opposed to it being a chore.

Do you thirst?
