9 Months

I'm worried I'm going to be "that mom." Currently, I cannot get enough of you. Your dad and I joke all the time that I am not ever going to give you space or independence. You are my buddy and I can't help but smile when I think of you (which is 100% of the time - and people thought I was happy before you were born!)

We also succumbed and changed our rarely used Dining Room to a playroom (... Once again something we said we'd never do). We have child proofed it and even have gates we can put so once you're moving we can lock you in... Not that I ever really leave your side, ha! I am super paranoid about you choking and can't tell you how many times I've watched an infant CPR review video on YouTube.

Personality
You are a Mama's boy! You can't stand if I put you down on the ground (especially if I have been away from you tutoring or running errands).

You LOVE Mr. Brown Can Moo (please start loving another book!) and Hiccopotomus (thank you, Tante Rox!). You seem to hate Oliver's Tree (don't blame me, blame Dolly Parton Library). You yell and throw it if I try to read it. You are mister opinionated!

Speaking of which, you have begun to yell for attention. Like, loud. Can babies create bad habits? I sure hope not, because the only thing to get you to stop yelling is for us to play with you.
You used to nurse constantly, but now you finally acknowledge when you're full, and you'll put yourself to sleep in the crib with your paci.

Speaking of sleep, your dad and I totally come in your room EVERY night and stand together staring at you. We are in awe that you're real, you're ours, and we are a family. Thank you, Jesus, for this wonderful blessing. I can honestly say that I am the most content I have ever been. As long as I have you and your dad, I don't need or want anything else.

You have napped all month consistently - I just had to figure out your schedule and you've been a dream. This means I can get the household chores done, work on a few projects, and get some reading in!

Stats
Weight: 22lbs, 1.5oz (85th percentile)
Height: 27.25 in (9th percentile - they remeasured him and I think he jumped to 20 something percentile, but I don't remember the height!)
BMI: 99th percentile 😂

Firsts
You've really begun to enjoy eating. Chicken, eggs, steamed carrots (most of the time), Bamba snacks, puffs, etc. We use food to distract you when we are in public.

You have started using Pacis consistently. I've always kept one in your crib for you to play with if you wake up early. One morning I walked in and you were sucking away! Ever since that has been a comfort for you.

We went to Texas! On your 9 month birthday. Originally we were going to fly alone, but thankfully some schedule's changed and Gramps changed the flights so we could go with Grammy! This meant more time with your Nana, Papa, and Uncle Sam (and meeting Auntie Cora Beth!).

We have been working on sign language with you - mostly "more" and "all done me." Unfortunately you have also learned to wave and now confuse the signs. You wave when you want more food, HA! We keep showing you the right way, but we're going with it.
