10 Months

I say it every month, but I really and truly mean it. Jericho David, you better stop growing so fast!! It is such a joy to watch you change and develop, but I am having a hard time believing we are entering the season you were born in last year. You are almost ONE.

Personality
You are so joyful. You also have a quick switch. You'll go from happy to a screech, trying to demand something. We see so much of ourselves in you, sweet boy. You have your Daddy's handsome looks. You also get frustrated easily with toys when they don't work like you think they should (why will the door not open when I pull it from the opposite side??) Future engineer? Maybe. You are hangry like your mama but your smile and joy is contagious. You observe where you are and all the people around you (are you skeptical or curious?). After 15 minutes or so you become smiley and talkative/sing songy, but not a moment before. 

We are trying our hardest to get you interested in standing, but you just aren't. You roll to get things sometimes, but you mostly roll just to move. Your toys don't seem to motivate you - you find yourself stuck in a corner often with no toys and you're content to babble there for 15+ minutes. We are not sure if you will be content with what you have or lazy one day!

You jump (shake) with joy when you see your snack or meal. You LOVE food.
EVERYTHING goes in your mouth. Everything.

12 month clothing - although it is getting tight!!

Firsts
You haven't had too many firsts this month.
You developed an interest in balls and love to play "catch" (especially if we count to 3 before. 

Anticipation for you is half the fun.

After our trip to Texas, we buckled down and now you eat a solid 3 meals a day. For breakfast your favorite is baby cereal. At lunch you usually eat an egg and half a banana (you would eat the whole thing if I let you!). For dinner you usually eat the other half of your banana and our leftovers, which is typically some kind of chicken. We tried tilapia and you were not a fan! Throughout the day you eat yogurt melts, puffs, and Bamba snacks. You still nurse after waking up in the morning and before both your naps and bedtime. In fact, I'm not really sure how we're going to back off when the time comes (and how do you figure out when the time comes??). 

We found a sippy cup that you are able to get some water out of (who knew there were so many different types?!). 

You (sometimes) wave and you loved to clap for Uncle Sam, but you won't do it for me!

It's so weird for me to think that before I know it you'll be crawling and trying to toddle around. A lot of your friends are, and the doctor's thrown out the possibility you're a little delayed, but he also said that right now it most likely has to do with your personality. It stresses me out though! I hope we are doing enough for you as your mama and dada, we love you SO much, little man.
