12 Months

Here we go again... The last baby update. I've said it to do many others, and I'll say it again. You hear all these things about being a parent (you have a special love for your child, time flies, look at what my child can do!), but you don't fully understand it until you are a parent. When you are taking care of that little one 24/7, it is crazy how bonded you become. 

Personality

 
You have gotten very chatty since our family beach trip. While Pops is your favorite person to say "Ah" to, you will say it to people in stores and look at them to see if they'll say it back to you. When I try to get you to say "Ma" you always reply to me with "Da." You do say mamama now, although it is usually when you just want something from me like food or milk, ha! Na, Da, and Sss are your favorite sounds.

Your favorite toys are your stacking cups, your lego kitty cat, and books. You love to take things apart.  You also love to play with people's hair.

Little Baby Bum is your favorite. You yell and scream when we say the name, and you go silent once it comes on. You love to try to handle the remote, ha!

Firsts
You had your first Halloween! We dressed up as your favorite book characters: you were Mr. Brown and we were cows (from Dr. Seuss's Mr. Brown Can Moo). 

You finally began to crawl! It's definitely more of an army crawl, but you do get up and rock on all fours. You also JUST started to go from laying down to sitting up, woohoo!

Towards the end of the month you started handing things out to us and waiting until we take them. You love to share!

I have definitely become your favorite (woohoo!) - but I think it's because you know I will give you food and water/milk the quickest. You crawl to me when you see me, or leave others' arms. While it is cute, I don't like hearing you cry when I walk away! You also are starting to not be a fan of me holding other little ones. 

You're recognizing tons of words now and it is just crazy to watch your brain develop. Some of them are: banana, milk, snack (do you notice a theme??), Little Baby Bum, night night, story, monkey, cat, dada, and look. 

This year has just flown by. Someone told me it goes faster each year, and I am so not prepared for that. Your dad and I love you so much, and we are so grateful we get to be your parents and watch you grow (both physically and in personality!). We can't wait to see what adventures your second year holds!
