11 Months
It's interesting how we are almost done with these monthly updates, yet I feel like you are on the cusp of developing and learning so much! By 15/16 months you'd be adding so much content to these posts.
A lot has happened this month, some good, some bad. The biggest of which is a nursing strike! I had gotten the stomach virus/flu/horribleness one Tuesday night (after you were in bed, thank goodness). First time I had truly gotten sick since I was a teenager. I felt terrible, but on Wednesday everything seemed fairly normal, even though my milk was low. But Thursday, you had it. I guess you were frustrated from Wednesday, and you out right refused. I thought it was just my milk supply, but into the next week you still were adamantly refusing me. I am starting to think it's a teething issue... You did nirsn a week later on Friday morning and I savored it. It turned out to be the last time you did. Here's to new stages, even if your old mom isn't ready for them!
Personality
You are just the cutest little boy in the world. Your smile lights up my world (and many others'!)
You know when you want something. If you really want it, you will roll to it (you can roll fast and pivot!). If you want it, but not a lot, you will whine until someone gets it.
You love attention. We were at a beach family vacation with 16 adults and couldn't get enough of looking at and smiling at everyone.
You are very observant, and we think very aware. When we say "stories" you look to the shelf where we keep our books. If we talk about monkeys, you look to our magnet board with animals on it (you love to try to put them in your mouth, and get so mad when I don't let you).
This month has been hard, as you've been working on growing your top 2 teeth. One of them has taken 3 weeks and counting to pop through that gum line. By the 11 month mark it finally came in and you are your happy self again!
Stats
You're in 18 month clothes and wear size 4 diapers. Our guess is you're around 24 pounds! You are starting to look older and like a little boy to me (although your chunky legs might end up staying around forever, sorry bud).
4 teeth (2 top 2 bottom) - brushing your teeth is your favorite thing ever!
Firsts
Your first hurricane! We bunkered down and watched the wind and rain for a few days. Never lost power, and our neighborhood didn't have any damage. We had more damage when Tropical Storm Michael came in a few weeks later!
First time to the beach! We had a Foshee/Loomis weeklong vacation (originally to be in Emerald Isle, but we had to switch to Nags Head last minute thanks to Hurricane Florence).
Following the trip, you headed home with Grammy and Gramps for your first sleepover while your dad and I headed to Wilmington for Caleb and Kristen's wedding! You handled it better than we did.
You started repeating sounds a lot more and having a conversation with people (ah, ba, da, and ya are your favorite sounds still. No ma unless you cry!) Your dad keeps asking me when "dadada" counts as your first word, ha!!
You've started pointing when you are excited which is nothing short of adorable.
I'm probably forgetting things because you seem to grow and change daily. We love you to pieces!!
