8 Months
This month has probably been my favorite yet. It probably has to do with the fact that you and I get to spend all day together now that school is out and I have my "new" job! Being your mama is the most rewarding thing I could do. I'm so thankful to be able to spend most of my time and energy on you (and taking on more house chores of course!).
Personality
We can tell that in the mornings you don't want your dad to leave for work! Once you see him, no matter where we go you turn your head to look for him! 😍
You don't love car rides. It's not so much the car seat, but more so the lack of playing with someone. 10 minutes is your usual limit!
You are very ticklish! We have found a few spots that make you laugh and laugh. You also find it hilarious to be kissed on your belly and arms. You still find surprised faces hilarious (this includes Elmo and his large mouth).
You would watch TV all day if you could, and you always seem to be disappointed if we don't turn on Little Baby Bum.
We have found a great schedule! Our plan wasn't to have you on a specific schedule, but that tends to be how you roll. 6:15/6:30 - Wake up, nurse, get ready for the day! 7:10 - Go on a run. 7:45 - Breakfast (baby oatmeal with peanut powder). 8 - playtime. 8:30 - nurse and nap. 10-12:15 - Errands and playtime. 12:30 - Nurse and nap. 1:45 - Walk. 2:30-5 - Playtime (daddy usually gets home 3:30 or 4 depending if I go and tutor!). 5:15- Family walk. 6:15 - Bathtime, nurse, and bed.
You're seemingly starting to get separation anxiety. When we dropped you off at the nursery you made a really sad face (but Grammy poked her head in a few minutes later and you seemed happy!). You can't stand it when you can't see us but you know we're around. And one morning you burst into tears because I handed you off to daddy! I'm pretty sure that was just a fluke since he's your favorite person ever.
Stats
12 month clothes, and now switching to size 4 diapers.
From our best guess you're about 22-23 pounds. You are heavy! Especially in your car seat. Speaking of which, we need to get you another carseat that isn't the click in/out infant version.
Firsts
You're really taking off with eating! Toast (with or without avacado), eggs, baby oatmeal, and fruit are what you love to eat. You really seem to like purees although we're trying to stick to mostly solids. This next week we are trying broccoli!
You're loving to roll and sit. No attempts to crawl or pull up yet!
You started sleeping on your stomach in your crib. I was thinking you'd never do that since you have disliked being on your tummy so much. Turns out you love it when it's time to sleep.
We'd love for you to start sitting in carts at stores! Fingers crossed that's in the next month.
BREAKING NEWS (to us at least) -- we just discovered this past Thursday that you have 2(!) bottom teeth coming in! You were laughing up a storm and I (the nosy mom that I am) was like "What is that in Jerichos's mouth??" 2 not quite popped through teeth it seems! Besides your regular amount of whining (which, let's be real, is minimal), you haven't acted a bit different! We are so excited about this for you!
We can't wait to see how you grow and what you learn this next month ❤️ Somehow our love for you continues to grow!
