5 Months

Time is just flying by. You are our baby but you are becoming a "little boy-baby" as we like to call you. This month was full of routine and nothing exciting, which is why I think it went so fast.

Personality
You're a charmer, as always. You see someone new, and you have this most serious face while taking them in. Then you decide to burst into many smiles for them, showing off your sweet personality.

You are interested in everything which means no sleeping in public places or even the car - there's just too much to see!

You are also starting to recognize when me or your dad isn't home. We call to FaceTime you, or talk to you through your baby monitor, and you smile. Then you realize we can't hold you, and you cry again. Tugs at this Mama's heart!!

You still fight naps. You still go to sleep early (7-8pm) and most nights you still wake up once at 3 or 4 am. You are awake by 7:30 99.9% of the time (sometimes even as early as 6:45)!

As of last week you started consistently taking a paci. This has helped in your acting hungry fussy times, when you think you want to eat but your stomach is full. Sometimes it even helps you take a nap!

Even though your first roll was a while ago, you've rolled maybe 4 times since then 💪 You're like your mama. You like the idea of things (like being able to independently move) but aren't willing to put the effort in to get there 🙄

Stats
We're guessing somewhere between 17-18lbs
Size 3 diapers (they are huge!)
We're getting ready to transition to 9 month clothes

Firsts
Going to your daddy's softball games! You love to watch, even though the earliest game is just past your bedtime. And daddy LOVES to have you watching - soon we'll both be cheering him on!

You celebrated your first Easter. The week before was your first time in the nursery - I watched the clock the WHOLE time in the service. Thankfully the ladies loved you and said you were so easy!

You met Dr. Staker! He's been my chiropractor since I was 9 years old. He's helped me with my migraines and watched me grow up - then he helped me when I was pregnant with you. It's so cool how he's seen so much of my (and my family's) life.

We're starting to practice sitting up, and you've been working on your core in your Bumbo seat. You still would rather be held than have to sit up, but you'll tolerate it.

I'm loving all the snuggles you give when you're tired! You laugh when we kiss your neck and bare belly. You are noticing your kitties and even reach out to them. If you wake up early on weekends we bring you into bed with us and you fall asleep for a little while longer. You give us the biggest smiles when we get home, or even come into a room with you. We love you so much it hurts little man 💙
