3 Months

A quarter of a year already. Halfway to 6 months. How can that be?? Your dad and I love you more as each day passes. It's incredible how our hearts have grown the last 3 months! We are also looking watch each other as parents and how we react to you.
Personality
You are a happy baby! You look around, you smile, and you don't really care who's holding you (although if you spot mom or dad you smile and laugh at us. And if you want food/Mama snuggles you start to do this adorable smile-frown switch up when you see me!).
You LOVE your hands. And your crinkly blanket. Both go in your mouth like crazy. Pacis? Still a hard no, and we've officially tried all the brands. You'd rather flesh or blanket material, I suppose! And we're finally stopping trying to get you to think otherwise 
You don't like to be bored. You don't want to sit around the house all day, you love to get in your stroller and go somewhere! Although you also get easily overstimulated, so it's all a balancing game.
You still don't nap consistently, but you need your quiet time/naps on Mama. Otherwise, you're fussy the rest of the day and there's no hope for happiness until bedtime!
Naked time is still a favorite, with bath time not far behind. You love being surprised by water running down you and having us tub the soap into your rolls.
Stats
15 lbs and a few ounces (give or take)
We don't know your exact length but my, have you grown! Daddy gives you body massages every day to help with height 
Firsts
You had your first laugh this month - and what a laugh it was! Your dad was cleaning your neck out (it's amazing how dirty it gets!) and it must have tickled because you started laughing and squirming uncontrollably. It was so fun that both your dad and I were in the room to hear it!
These days you laugh at funny noises, some books (you love ”Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?" and "Huggy Kissy"), and when people make funny faces. You thought it was hilarious when your friend Everett started coughing! We tried to tell you that wasn't very nice but you laughed anyways.
The world has become way more interesting to you, so all of a sudden you'd rather be looking out than strapped to Mama!
You have us two big scares this month. The first was when I was changing your diaper before bed. You were laid out on your table and you projectile spat up 4 times! It all happened so fast. The 2nd time the fountain came up I hollered for your dad, and when it happened again I started screaming for him! He had no idea what he was running up into and imagined the worst! You were of course smiling and cooing afterwards, while I shook and cried from relief. Those 30 or so seconds were so scary as I had no idea if it would ever stop and if you were okay. We had just given you a bath and hadn't emptied the water out so we plopped you back in!
Then you had your first visit to the Emergency Department. We are grateful we went, but sure everyone thought we were silly (we did only go because when we called the after hours pediatrician line they told us to, which gave us quite a fright even though we were almost certain what it was). You had screamed for a few hours nonstop. And this wasn't fussing or regular baby crying, it was clear you were in pain/distress. And NOTHING helped which was very out of the ordinary. Turns out you just needed a big poop (which is what we figured), but the doctor wanted to make sure your intestines weren't twisted based on your age and out of character behavior. Thank goodness that was not the case! Unfortunately it meant we were at the ED for over 4 hours and got home around 1am. You dozed between doctors/nurses once you were feeling better, so you probably thought it was all a dream.
You celebrated your first Valentine's day! We surprised daddy at with with a cupcake, ate lunch with Grammy and some friends, and had Gramps and Uncle Jack over for dinner. You were definitely well loved that day! ❤️
You were babysat for the first time by Auntie Deanna, and the following week Uncle Jack watched you!
Your daddy had his first business trip leaving you and I alone for the first time. Lucky for me you are a sweet baby, even if you do love being held constantly!
You're our little sweetheart. We found ourselves amazed by how much we love you, and how our hearts hurt when you're in pain. Month 4 is sure to be adventurous as we head to Arizona for a wedding (flying overnight, eek!) and I head back to work. There will be lots of ups and a few downs ahead, but we can't wait to do it all with you!
