He is Jealous for ME
So I'm sitting in Port City Java, "working" on my Graphics Communications homework (clearly, since I'm blogging).
The coffee shop was playing some pretty cute music, and for some reason, it made me think of Pandora. Now, I am way behind the times and have never listened to it. So I registered, and before I could even pick some music, it played some of my "Facebook favorites" (kind of creepy if you ask me). But, it was a "Christian" band, and I thought to myself "hmm, I could go for some David Crowder right now."
So...my first playlist is my favorite Christian artists. Actually, I only have the DC band, Hillsong, and Chris Tomlin on currently...but you get my point. I haven't purposely listened to an all-Christian playlist in SO long. Partially because the only time I listen to music is when I drive and run. I've been on State's campus, so I haven't been driving at all. The first song that came on is one of my absolute favorites - Oh, How He Loves. This song always makes me tear up.
While I was running today, I was listening to Crosspointe's podcast from a few weeks ago, when Steve talked about the 1st commandment. One of the points he got across was that God wants to set me FREE - from everyday burdens, sin, etc. He offers it freely. Kind of like getting a job just because you know the boss - not because of how "good" or "qualified" you are. Thank goodness for that because I am NOT a worthy person of Perfection. How He Loves always reminds me that GOD is jealous for ME - of MY time that I choose to spend on my jobs, homework, with friends, with Cal, at football games, etc.
HE desires to spend time with me, and this song reminds me that and helps me desire spending time with HIM.
Although jealousy isn't good to harbor, you have to admit it's nice when someone is jealous for you. Like, I'm reminded how much Cal loves me when he gets jealous that some guy at the gym hit on me. It's a good feeling!
It's so crazy to think that God is jealous for me and YOU!!!
